Halloween is soon approaching. In college, there are many things that students have to worry about. There are many papers due, exams to take, and just as important—Halloween costumes to plan. Even though many college students generally like to party on Halloween, most like to dress up on the night of ghoulish fun. If you are not sure what costume you should don, here are 10 great costume ideas. You can put your personal touch on each one.

1. Cat
This is a great costume—for girls. Girls can just break out a black tee, black tights and load up on the smoky eye make-up. It is a simple costume that you can really dress up. You can add your own personal touch by adding a mask adorned with glitter. Meow!

2. Vampire
With vampires being so popular—this is a great costume idea for both guys and gals. Guys can be spooky hot vampires by adding some powder to their face. It’s not a very hard look to achieve. Gals can be their vampire mistress with some dark red lipstick and powder. I vant to suck your blood!

3. Clown
If you consider yourself a funny kind of person—think about being a clown. You just need some face make-up and a red nose. Ha, ha, ha!

4. Flapper
This is a great choice for trendy girls. You can go to a thrift store and pick up a fabulous vintage dress. You then need to curl your hair and work your charm. Hey there boys!

5. Lady Gaga
A fashion icon. You can let your Gaga out this Halloween. Pick from one of her many crazy outfits and be prepared to get complimented. Gaga, ooh la la, Gaga, ooh ra ra!

6. Superhero
Guys, if you want to find your Mary Jane or Louis Lane, dress up as a superhero. Is it a plane? A bird? Superman!

7. Police officer
If you want to keep the laws of the land. Dress up as a police officer, you can be a girl or a guy for this costume.

8. Pirate
We all know that pirates are very popular. Guys can be a hunky sea pirate, and girls can be beautiful, pirates. All you need is some sea-worthy clothes and some cool accessories. Arrgh mateys

9. Angel
For the gal that wants to play up her good side, this is a fun costume choice. Add some light make-up and a halo for an instant angel. Aaaaaa!

10. Zombie
Zombies are a great choice for guys and gals. Find some ripped clothes and add some make-up. You can be spooky very quickly. Mmm, brains!

Maybe Im the only one who finds that hilariously accurate, but once I saw that quote on a graphic t-shirt, I just had to post about it. I found this blog called “tree hugger” the other day and amid their posts about eco-loving and environmentalists of the USA that express moving concerns for wildlife, there was a small and yet poignant post: Mother Lovin Obama. The graphic as seen above can stand on its own as a poster, desktop wallpaper, or even your trendy iPhone background. If youve been keeping up with this urban fashion blog, then Im sure youve noticed that Ive been on a tangent of Barack Obama and his relation to todays youth fashion. I should of course make it clear I have no actual political affiliation. If McCain or Barr had graphic tees, canvas bags, and backpacks as cool as Obama Paraphernalia I would be more than happy to write about it. But this is very far from reality so youre stuck with Obama as my prime example of politics and fashion. The 70s funk feel on this t-shirt is reminiscent of the Good Ol Days where having fun was okay and people were inclined to believe in things like hope, change, and human integrity (as well as a little dance part-ay now and then). The Obama graphic tee capitalizes on not only appealing to the white hipster demographic, but it also appeals to the urban fashion community and successfully melds itself within the fashion grassroots effort by the Obama campaign.
